We had a ball, thanks to all those who came and listened so well. There were around 70 good friends present at Lizottes Central Coast, and we saw a great warm up set from Rod White, and special guest Maggie Janes.

When Slide Albatross kicked off our set, the atmosphere felt incredible to me. You could hear a pin drop. There was no applause for solos, just attentive eyes and ears to our meandering intermingled 3-way journeys, but when we finished each piece the crowd really roared into enthusiastic support. Introductions for Alex Masso received a big rise after his work on the new tune the unfortunate demise of eucalyptus marginata. Dave de Vries got a great rap too, after a rich, low register strumming kind of solo on his tune ms coconutz which was a brilliant example of patient musical construction, and delivery.

Thanks to all those who bought records.

slide albatross emerges as a suggestion from mr de Vries: make some music, at a little joint by the ocean in east australia. it feels good immediately, the bar is full. they ask what style is it? hard to say. perhaps the term is migrational…
